On 27th July, I watched this very short clip in which a woman somewhere in the UK gets asked about the two British politicians currently vying for the premiership. The clip bears the logo of STV, a Glasgow-based news outlet. Of course, this very short interview could have been staged but, for my part, I would contend that what she says is likely to be shared by huge numbers of people across Europe, North America, Australia, New Zeland, etc [I shall let you guess what the common denominator is].

The apposition ‘and whether this bodes well or ill for humanity’ which I used a little further down on this page to conclude a short string of sentences in relation to a quote about mind powered machines reminded me of a claim made by Craig Paardekooper about the number of people he estimates will die from the C-19 injections I read on 16th July:

Being NO Bible prophecy expert (in fact, I have never really considered myself to be a true Christian as, since my late teenage years, I have no longer been on board with many of the tenets of Christianity as an institutional religion; however, I no longer consider myself as an atheist and I certainly prefer genuine Christians or Muslims to atheists), I made use of the fact that I had checked the meaning of the word pharmakeia in the New Testament (see ‘The word pharmakeia almost out of context?’ below) last week to ascertain Craig Paardekooper’s claim that the Bible speaks of a reduction in the world population by a quarter given that I recalled ‘third’ being used in the Book of Revelation.
True enough, Revelation 9:15 says ‘kill a third of humanity’ (‘apokteinosin to triton ton anthropon’, ‘ἀποκτείνωσιν τὸ τρίτον τῶν ἀνθρώπων’); should you feel inclined to do so, you can even check this for yourself in the oldest surviving MS of the Bible, at https://digi.vatlib.it/pub/digit/MSS_Vat.gr.1209/iiif/Vat.gr.1209_1532_pa_1528.jp2/full/1178,/0/native.jpg.
However, being, I repeat, no Bible buff, I cannot declare with any degree of confidence that this is the only prophecy in the Bible which gives a figure for this very important eschatological issue. Yet it is not one sufficiently important to me for it to have prompted me – or even any likely to cause me in future – to carry out further (and conclusive) research. But you can do so yourself, as never in the history of humanity has it been as easy as today, for people with reasonably good access to the Internet, to find information within a matter of minutes or within the hour – or, at most, within a couple of hours.

On sixth July, I was surprised to find out that the slogans ‘Freedom of speech’, ‘Freedom of medical choice’, ‘Freedom in Canada!’ written on pieces of cardboard or paper in support of a French scientist who had emigrated to Canada by the name of Gaston Naessens as he made his way into the Palais de Justice in Sherbrooke, Quebec, went back not to January of this year but to the twenty-seventh day of June 1989. I had heard his name mentioned in an interview of Dr Lorraine Day – and thus also of Mr Naessens’s theory of somatids – but I did not go beyond reading through quickly two or three pages found on the Internet and therefore left the matter there. Unfortunately, I am not going to expand on Mr Naessens’s approach to cancer here, on my weblog. Having brushed ‘mystery illnesses’ off my mind, I can now do the same with my hypothesis that the infamous Georgia Guidestones (my entry on them is here) might have been demolished as part of a magical operation. As claimed by one practitioner of sigil-based magic:

The word
pharmakeia almost out of context?
Yesterday, after having checked the exacting wording of Matthew 7: 15-20 in ancient Greek (Codex Vaticanus, 1242 and 1243), in Latin (Codex Amiatinus) as well as in the earliest translation into English (Egerton MS 618, f.4v), I remembered that I also had to check the (ancient) meaning of the Greek word pharmakeia (drug; sorcery/witchcraft; poison), in particular its occurrence in Revelation 18:23:
For your merchants were the most important people of the earth,
ὅτι οἱ ἔμποροί ἦσαν οἱ μεγιστᾶνες τῆς γῆς
because with your sorcery they deceived all the nations.
ὅτι ἐν τῇ φαρμακείᾳ σου ἐπλανήθησαν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη

Interestingly, the first translations into English (the so-called Wycliffite Bibles) went for two of the above meanings, namely poison (venom) and witchcraft.

An appropriate symbol for hell?
A recent diatribe of a vlog uploaded on to the Internet by a Canadian independent journalist (Josh Sigurdson, of World Alternative Media) shot in front of a central banking institution in Basle, Switzerland, reminded me of a famous quote of C.S. Lewis unfortunately shortened as follows: ‘The greatest evils in the world will not be carried out by men with guns, but by men in suits sitting behind desks’. The real quote comes from the second preface the Christian author and Oxford-based scholar C.S. Lewis wrote for the 1961 edition of The Screwtape Letters and should read as follows: ‘I like bats much better than bureaucrats. I live in the Managerial Age, in a world of ‘Admin’. The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid ‘dens of crime’ that Dickens loved to paint. It is not done even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern.’
I have nothing to add to Lewis’s famous quote about where he believes the greatest evil can be found except that there are several institutions, here in Switzerland, which, I think, fit the above description. I shall let you guess the names of these institutions. Hint: they are based in Geneva.
