Even
though on 26th May 2020 I had come across the name of the
Italian psychic Gustavo Adolfo Rol whilst browsing through the
catalogue of a French publishing house specialising in esoteric,
paranormal and other fringe subjects, I had clean forgotten about his
name, despite having bothered to look up the translation of Maria
Luisa Giordano’s
biography about Rol published by https://jmgeditions.fr
(Rol et l’autre dimension)
in a Swiss online catalogue and found that Ticino’s cantonal library
in Locarno held a copy in the original language (Rol e l’altra dimensione).
Well, a
couple of hours ago, after having stumbled across a clip claiming to
list some of the dire predictions for 2023 attributed to a blind
Bulgarian woman seer nicknamed Baba Vanga (1911-1996), through the
sheer power of serendipity (I had jotted down a reference to an
article about her written by a French
researcher of paranormal topics), I was given the opportunity to
read more about the life of a man who was bestowed with far greater
extraordinary psychic powers, Gustavo Adolfo Rol (1903-1994).
Born
into a banking family in Turin, northern Italy, Gustavo Adolfo Rolf
started to develop his fabulous psychic abilities in his early
twenties, after having tried for almost two years to guess the colour
of a random playing card with its face down, an idea which had cropped
up in his mind whilst passing by the window of a tobacco shop in
Marseilles where a pack of
playing cards was on display. On 28th July 1927,
he wrote in his diary the following sentence: ‘I
discovered a terrible law linking the colour green, the musical fifth and heat.’
This was the start of a series of amazing experiments in which he
would showcase to friends or even strangers his set of remarkable
psychic powers, which included but were not limited to his ability to
read any page of a book picked at random but left unopened
(biblioscopy), his ability to see inside the human body (endoscopy)
and diagnose diseases, as well as heal people, his ability to
levitate, to be present in two locations at the same time
(bilocation), to speak foreign languages unbeknownst to him
(xenoglossy), to communicate with people without speaking to them
(telepathy), to see future (precognition) or past events
(retro-cognition) and to travel through time, the ability to move
objects through the power of his will (telekinesis) or to
materialise/dematerialise them, etc.
Given
that I know very little about this man (I am writing this blog entry
only because I feel that I have to share the little I know about
Gustavo Adolfo Rol in the hope that readers of my blog will obtain
further proof of the complexity of the ‘reality’ we have to deal with
in our daily lives – incidentally, this should come as a great source
of spiritual ‘consolation’ in my opinion), I am going to finish the
present introduction to this twentieth-century psychic from northern
Italy with a quote by a relative of his who wrote a biography of this
rather extraordinary member of his extended family.
Popularised
by the theosophist and nineteenth-century Russian mystic Helena
Petrovna Blavatsky (1831-1891), the Akashic records are best
understood as some kind of ethereal equivalent of a gigantic computer memory bank
in which every deed, word, feeling or thought are consigned forever.
In the introduction to the life and spiritual beliefs of his namesake,
Franco Rol offers the following interesting passage:
8) What is the "intelligent spirit"?
Rol affirmed that every animate or inanimate thing
possessed a “spirit”, and so human beings had “intelligent” spirits
because of the special characteristics of human consciousness. These
two types of “spirit”, different only by a degree, are present in
the moment that the thing or human being exists, as well as after
its destruction, or death. It is a kind
of “film” of the thing or individual, its reproduction containing
all the information and history about the thing or individual,
from birth to death. For example, if Rol asked the
“intelligent spirit” of Leonardo Da Vinci to “participate” in an
experiment and to materialize a painting on a blank piece of paper,
the “ethereal memory” of Leonardo conserved
in
the Archive of the Universe could realize it thanks to
Rol’s mediation, a kind of catalyst and revitalizer of the same memory… Nevertheless, the painting
that the intelligent spirit of Leonardo created would adhere to the
artistic genre of his genius, and could not paint in a style
different from his own, or represent subjects that he had not
portrayed while alive, like the characters of a film
cannot voluntarily change their roles or do anything different from
those that they did in the film.
It also follows that according to this same analogy, it is possible
to identify the “soul” with the actor, who could also interpret
other roles. In fact, according to Rol, “the soul returns to God”,
an expression that can be interpreted in various ways. The
metaphysical tradition sustains that an Illuminated Teacher can
return to Earth voluntarily, to continue or complete a spiritual
mission. The destiny of those who in
life did not reach a sufficient spiritual level to permit
post-mortem survival is different. In fact, those who remained on
the level of matter will only return to matter…
